  1. Do your  homework on the company, industry, and folks you are meeting
  2. Confirm the dress code
  3. Dialogue, not monologue!  Smile, show some personality. (An engaged interchange is what allows chemistry to develop.)
  4. Be succinct and honest
  5. Be contextually relevant. Highlight similarities and valued aspects of your background.
  6. Talk in terms of “we”, not “I”. Today’s organizations are flatter and very reliant on collaboration.
  7. Highlight relevant successes (have 3-5 prepared)
  8. Be concrete with your accomplishments (quantify the results and impact)
  9. Do not badmouth prior employers, stay positive!
  10. Prepare a list of great questions that reflect your insight and interest level
