- Obtain personal input and feedback from close colleagues regarding how they think about you and what you do well.
- Explore what “next moves” could make sense for you. Get ideas from colleagues and obtain feedback on your early ideas.
- Craft a compelling, succinct, well positioned resume ( 1 to 2 ½ pages) with meaningful and ideally quantified accomplishments.
- Update your Linked-In profile and notify your social networks of your job search.
- Start a targeted and aggressive networking campaign (phone and face to face) with those you know…and join a local executives networking group.
- Develop a target list of companies you would like to work for and search firm consultants and research associates.
- Distribute your resume via email with a short and appropriate cover note (1/2 to ¾ page)
- Polish interviewing skills
- Pre-test your references either through an early job consideration or an executive coach.
